Pietas et Litterae

Piety & Learning — Our Motto since 1617

We are the Piarists — a Catholic Religious Order dedicated for over four centuries to the education of children, especially the poorest and most vulnerable. Our Order was approved by Pope Paul V in 1617 and elevated by Pope Gregory XV in 1621.

Today, more than 1,300 Piarist religious serve across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas — sharing the mission of Pietas et Litterae (Piety and Learning) with over a hundred thousand lay partners within the Calasanz Family.

As members of the Piarist Vice-Province of India, we carry St. Calasanz's vision into Bangalore through Satguru Sangh Charitable Trust — supporting education, relief, and community service for those most in need.

Charity in Action

The Piarist Fathers have served children and families across India since 1994 — spanning 8 states with schools, hostels, parishes, and new mission outposts.

Our Mission

Every action we take is guided by three core pillars that define our purpose and shape our programs.

01 🎓

We believe education is the most powerful tool for transforming lives. We support schools, scholarships, and learning programs that open doors for children from underprivileged backgrounds.

  • School support programs
  • Scholarship funds
  • Skill development
02 🌱

Community Service

Beyond classrooms, we engage in neighborhood outreach — health camps, clean-up drives, women empowerment workshops, and initiatives that strengthen the social fabric.

  • Health & wellness camps
  • Women empowerment
  • Youth programs
03 🤲

Charity & Relief

In times of hardship, we mobilize resources to provide food, clothing, medical aid, and emergency support to families and individuals most in need across Bangalore.

  • Food & nutrition drives
  • Medical aid support
  • Disaster relief
